Christmas Eve is Caption Eve

It may be Christmas Eve, but it is still Saturday, and you know what that means! A photo to caption: On the 24th Day of Christmas Mummy was hunting around for quick and easy recipes and discovered this at I’m Counting UFO’s. I suspect that this is what we will be eating on Boxing Day, when Mummy has no intention of entering the kitchen. Lucky Daddy is good with Tuna! Check it out if you need an easy fix 😉   Linking up here at Mammasaurus!

Meet me on a Monday

There is a very cool blog over in the States called Never Growing Old. Over there. Java asks questions once a week designed to give us all a little bit more insight into each other’s lives. This week it is about Christmas, so we are joining in to record our Christmas traditions: Questions: 1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper. Colour-coordinated to match the tree! Mummy isn’t good with random colours. 2.Real or artificial tree? Artificial. Real makes too much mess, clogs up the hoover, and has to go to the tip after the holidays. Which in Daddy’s world means …

Saturday is Mammasaurus Caption Day!

Or #Madcap, as it shall henceforth be known. Caption Saturday is having a theme this week. We got enough pictures of Mammasaurus that we could share them around a little, and together with Here Come the Girls we have secretively created a lovely online gallery of the lovely lady, on her very own blog! Aren’t we clever! Now it’s your turn, to find a caption for this: On the 17th Day of Christmas Kat Tate invited Mummy to share a glass of champagne and reflect on 2011. Always a fan of the popping wine, Mummy readily joined in, and is …

Funny things kids do at Christmas

Ever wondered what we kids think about Christmas? Of course we want Santa to come, but maybe we want family, lovely food, songs about the baby Jesus? Nope, as far as kids are concerned, this is what Christmas is all about: And I mean ‘everything’ important. There is nothing else. Shallow, aren’t we? Although, before I knew too much about presents, I did learn the Christmas story, all about the baby Jesus, the shepherds, and the kings. I proudly told Mummy and Daddy the facts, and answered their questions. Mummy asked what gifts the kings brought and I firmly announced: …

A Picture of Me

Many of you know that I write this blog autonomously and that you never see my face on here. I wrote yesterday of how well I am doing at school and this has resulted in calls for me to display my picture. I really prefer not to, but just for today you get to see a real life picture of me… …in the cubist style 😉 Now, on the 9th day of Christmas I visited the very beautiful blog that is Cherry Menlove. This is quite possibly the most gorgeous blog to look at that I have ever seen. I …

The Things They Teach in School These Days! Wot So Funee

I was having a chat with Mummy the other day about school in the olden days. She laughed when I asked her if they had school when she was young and if she went. I thought it was a pretty reasonable question given how little she knows about the things they teach in school. I am 7 and I already know more than her. This is a synopsis of several post-schoolday interactions we have had over the last few weeks: Mummy: What did you learn today? GG: Oh just Symbolism in Hindu worship…. GG: I was sad today because I …

Top 5 Christmas Songs

Lets get one thing straight. This is my blog, right? Therefore these are my top 5 Christmas songs. If you don’t like it don’t listen – but these are, in actual real life, the top 5 Christmas songs of all time. That’s my time, right? Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade: Mummy has been struggling to feel the Christmas spirit until now, but this has got her tingling, she says. I think they look weird, and what on earth was the rubbish telly? Did nobody tell them about HD and 3D? However I do have to admit that it is my …

December: 31 Days of Bloggers!

I finished NaBloPoMo yesterday and went over to Twitter. I remembered how much I liked it. I tweeted a bit. People tweeted me back. Pretty soon I was loving it and stayed way longer than I intended. I linked up my final NaBlo….(oh I can’t even be bothered to type it any more) and for the first time this month I clicked on a link from another blogger rising to the challenge. For.The.First.Time. How rude! Here I am, blithely linking up my posts and not visiting anyone in return. So apparently there is another ‘blog-a-post-a-day’ thingy starting in December. Well not for …

Blogging Charter in the light of NaBloPoMo

Michelle at Mummy from the Heart recently tagged Mummy to write a Blogging Charter. A Charter lays down some intentions, a set of rules if you like, around which you will go about your business, in this case, what readers should be able to expect of you. Now as some of you know, Mummy is particularly rubbish at responding to memes (soon to be rectified if you are still awaiting a response on Versatile, Leibster, About Me and 10 Questions!) I have twisted her arm though, because as the chaos of NaBloPoMo comes to an end today, now seems like a good …

NaBloPoMo: Why I Will not be Doing it Again

Dear Mummy, stop being such a perfectionist! You have blogged every day for 25 days. You do not have to do another 5. Enough is enough! If you are bored your readers are probably bored too. Your writing has suffered, your photo files are a mess, we have been surviving on pizza. Stop it! Love from GG. PS – we would like you to play with us…. Dear GG, I can’t stop, I will feel like a failure. And to give up 5 days before the end – can’t do it. Even though I know that I am not posting …

Wot So Funee? 9 More Toilet Humour

I wrote yesterday about how much I appreciate my brother. He enhances my life in so many ways; here is an example of one, overheard whilst we were in the bathroom together: Me: Thank you Bug for chatting to me while I’m on the loo. Bug: S’alright GG. ‘Cos it’s really boring doing a poo and it’s nice to have someone to chat to. You’re welcome sister. Oops look, my willy’s poking up out of my pants! Blaaaahahaha! That’s not good is it? No, it’s not! ‘Cos I need a wee! Oooh that really wouldn’t be good, because then you …

The Photo Gallery: I am Proud…

…of my brother. Shhhh! Keep your voice down! Yes, I know it is lovely, but I really don’t want it shouted from the rooftops. He is, after all, The Bug. He is cute and annoying in equal measure, and if he ever got wise to the fact that I care at all, he would use it against me at every opportunity! “Mummy, GG is being mean to me…. Mummy, GG isn’t sharing….. Mummy, GG made me be Ken to her Barbie and she won’t let Ken shoot anything….” I mean honestly, you’d think he would finally get wise to the fact that I am older, …

A Birth Story of Two Halves

This is part of a bloghop. Please click here to share your own Birth Story. Today I am posting a guest contribution from the only thing that Mummy gained from her NCT courses – a best friend! She had never really discussed this with her friend, given that they were both lost to a fog of despair in the first weeks after our births. They would meet occasionally whilst dashing around random shops or parks desperately seeking respite from the sofa of feeding hell. They only ever had time to mutter a hasty ‘Lovely to see you, must do coffee, …

Top 5 Gadgets for 7 Year Olds – Listography

Listography at Kate Takes 5 this week is all about gadgets, and I have my top 5 right here. Now I love to read, but girl cannot live by books alone, and when the printed word begins to swim, a little light relief is in order. Fun things that make life easier. Here are my top 5 gadgets: The iPad (iPhone, iTouch, or basically anything ‘i’). Particularly if it accommodates apps concerning Barbie, High School Musical or Moshi Monsters. It fills my car journeys, makes me eat quicker in restaurants, keeps me occupied during boring adult chat, and can even improve mind …

You Get the Picture?

Mummy finally met Chatty Baby’s Mummy (Chatty Baby has a lovely Mummy, apparently), who has started a new meme. You Get the Picture is a chance to show off your artwork. I am so all over that one! So here is my first entry: Diamonds at the Beach What do you think? Shall I chop my ear off yet?

Saturday is Caption Day!

Fancy a challenge? Caption this, and then head over to Mammasaurus for some more silly pictures.

Dear So and So… Letters to Santa

Dear Santa, I will be a little late submitting my letter to you this year. You see, Mummy won’t let me on the computer. She says she is too busy using it to blog, and that my spending 4 hours browsing the Toys R Us website is not a priority.  Which is unfortunate, because I don’t really know what I want. I’m sure once I have had access to the computer I will have a list of tat as long as my arm that I really need, so please rest assured that my letter will be available to view  just …
