#15/52

It has been a chilled out kind of holiday week. The weather has been kind enough, in parts, for us to spend time at the park (I have recently mastered the art of swinging, and can do it for hours); on the colder days we have sought the comfort of a sofa, a duvet, and tv food with friends. Mummy briefly escaped us for a London conference from Save the Children (more on that next week); and today, in between hailstorms, we cycled to a rather lovely pub for lunch, where I decimated a blossom tree in the name of …

366 Photography Project

It has been a week of fun and games. Some of them welcome, others not so much. First off, we trashed the house with Daddy whilst Mummy celebrated the birthday of her great friend Annie, with the help of some double chocolate brownie after-eight mint cupcakes (yes you read that right) made by @cheetahsinshoes. They were a huuuuuuuge success! The rest of the week has been spent appreciating the sunlight, sneaking into our hallway in the early mornings to catch the mirrors on Mummy’s mobile, drying the laundry in the breeze outside (simple pleasures), and coaxing the flowers out of …

72/366 Photos: A fashion show

Every year at school there is a fashion show, at which children get to model lots of different items, and parents get to lighten their cheque books after a rocking show and a glass of wine. This year I was selected for the year 2 end of show dance routine. We all wore the blue and white Mary Quant-style dress and delivered our hastily-rehearsed moves to the screams, yells and cheers of family and friends. I was so proud darling. You looked absolutely stunning, you got your moves all sorted, and you modelled with a gorgeous smile on your face. …

70/366 Photos: The Good Samaritan

Yesterday we went to Grandma’s; only we never got there. Grandma lives 2 hours away, and halfway there, as Mummy pulled into a fuel station, she hit a kerb, and burst a tyre. Can you imagine how many people came to her rescue? How the good people of Essex rallied round to help her in her panic, occupying a filling point while queues of impatient drivers honked their horns angrily? That’s right, not a single one. Luckily there was a Macdonald’s drive-through nearby so Mummy locked us in the car, with strict instructions not to move and set the alarm …

65/366 Photos (Well, a video actually)

Yesterday the weather was grim. It rained; it poured; and we were gobsmacked when eventually it snowed. Great big wet splodges of slush, splattered on the window pane as we gazed hopefully at the trampoline: Luckily for us, it was Mother’s day so we stayed home and ate, and played Slug in a Jug all day!

Friends: 60/366 Photos

Mummy cheated on the the old photo a day thingy today. Firstly she was so fed up with having no internet yesterday and this morning that she rather got the hump with it all. I know how it goes: you try, you fail, you give up. Except that’s not what she tells me to do, so she needed to get back in the saddle too! Internet back, she opened her inbox to find 159 new emails, the first of which was from her good friend Five Go Blogging, posting for the Gallery linky. No chance of Mummy seeing her friends …

Photography: 366 52

It’s been a funny old week, during which Mummy neglected to take a picture every day, so possibly this weekly project post is turning into a 52 rather than a 366! Mummy got very excitable about booking herself into a seminar for Social Media Week London. She arrived early (check out the dates on the event brief and the travelcard) and was rather less excited. We visited all of our Grandparent’s, where the Bug demonstrated his newly acquired reading skills to Grandpa, and we fawned over Grandma’s lovely doggies! I played snow tricks on the Bug (he never fails to …

A Family Story: The Photo Gallery

* I am linking up this photo to the Gallery at Sticky Fingers again today (10.9.12) because when the theme Yellow was announced, this was the photo that sprung to mind. GG and Bug’s grandad, never one to let fashion sense get in the way of an angle, in his full-on outfit for his and my Mum’s Golden Wedding anniversary. My Mum is in hospital 120 miles away this week, so I hope that seeing this again will cheer her up… This happened before I was born. My Grandma and Grandad’s Golden wedding anniversary. I knew my Grandad, but my …

A Photo of Something I Love

This is not the first time I’ve used this photograph on my blog, and it probably won’t be the last. It is a photo of something that Mummy loves, and I have to be honest and declare that I love it too. Of course, Mummy loves us, her children. And obviously me and the Bug love the Bluebell woods at Ringshall. But there is something else here that we all love just as much, and it isn’t always in evidence. So when we do capture it on film, it is all the more precious. “I love my brother, and he …

Photography: 366/52 Sunday

Bored with the normality of a daily photo, we have played with editing software – this week it is Photoscape – to add a bit of pizazz to our 366 photos. By way of explanation, there was a school trip, which involved a boring coach journey through London with multiple traffic hold-ups. Then some attempted blogging whilst the Bug got creative with Lego, some not so silent Sundaes, and snow – lots of it! And that was our week! Joining in with photography projects on Mammatography at Diary of a First Child, The Boy and Me,  and  Love All Blogs. …

366 Sunday Week 3

Well it’s week 3 and I’m still going – just! There was a moment when Mummy thought we were going to have to use the reserve pictures and theme a post around them, but we miraculously smashed a bottle of dessert sauce which has already fuelled debate in the #satcap community over horror scenes in our kitchen! This week, as we have done some (admittedly random) crafting, I am also linking this post up to Red Ted Art’s Kids Crafts. Anyway, here it is (albeit late, on a Monday – are we going to pull this off?): Day 1 The …

I Spy with my little eye…

I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with S. Do you know what it is? I’ll give you a clue: it is the product of an afternoon’s work by Daddy and the Bug 😕

The Photo Gallery: Eyes

How does Mummy always know everything? Like, that I have some of my Christmas chocolate stashed away in a drawer in my bedroom, in case sleep evades me, or I am woken by the binmen too early. How does she always know when I am telling fibs? How can she tell who hit who first in a sibling scrap? And how come she always, always finds out if I indulge in covert reading after dark? She tells me she has eyes in the back of her head. She doesn’t though. Does she? This post is inspired by The Gallery at …

Inspired: Pink

I could not do without pink. I could show you how much I love pink by photographing my bedroom, but having discovered Pinterest, I find there are so many more pink things that I could add to my collection. The feathers here are mine, mine, mine, but everything else is from lovely pink-lovers credited below 🙂 What inspires you? There is a linky below at Dear Beautiful Boy where you can join in! Hot Piggy Pink Shoes by Mytheresa. Bubblegum Dress from Etsy. Cake Pops via Flickr. Candy by Hostess Blog. I have been inspired to post my pink stuff …

366 Sunday Week 2

Time for my diary of the week in photos: Day 1 I finally got my full Brownie uniform. I just joined recently and my 6 is Leprechauns, which Daddy says is entirely appropriate – can’t think why. I am super-enjoying it, despite not knowing anyone there! ♥♥♥   Day 2 We are twinned at school with the African town of Kano, and we are learning about traditional african food, music, dancing and textiles. We used beetroot and turmeric to make dyes and then experimented with different ways of tying the fabrics. Waiting for them to dry now. Day 3 An …
