Wot So Funee? Star Wars Revenge of the Sith

Last week we gave you an introduction to The Facts of Life for Kids. We moved on to giving you a linky post to share your Birth Stories with us. You may well be wondering what nuggets of inspiration await you this week on Wot So Funee? A-levels for 7-year-olds perhaps? News of a starring role in a West End show? No such luck I’m afraid. This week, Wot So Funee? brings you a very simple take on Anakin Skywalker’s fate in the Revenge of the Sith, which we watched with Daddy while Mummy was away in Paris. I am not …

11.11.11 What Mummy Did: The Photo Gallery

The brilliant Tara Cain at Sticky Fingers: The Gallery  has noticed that 11.11.11 is a special date, and has suggested that we all record it with pictures of how we spent that day. Well thank you so much Tara, because 11.11.11 was the day Mummy went to Paris. Being Mummy she stressed quite a lot as they went through the tunnel on Eurostar about 11.11.11 being the kind of date terrorists might pick for a media masterpiece, but she and her 2 close friends made it to Paris and included a 2 minute silence at 11am (did you know it was 12pm in France?). I am …

Saturday is Caption Day!

It’s Saturday again so time to have a laugh and find a caption for this: I know it’s not technically a photo, but it is quite funny all the same!

Music as Therapy

Mummy has now been tagged by no less than 4 people to take part in MammyWoo’s Music as Therapy theme, so I tactfully suggested that now might be the time to get her act together and complete the loop. The idea is that you choose a song that means something to you, for the lyrics, a memory, or just the way it makes you feel. So, thanking Diary of a Lagos Mum, Honie Mummy Blog, But Why Mummy Why? and Mum of One for the tag, here is our version. (Scroll down for mine – it’s the best)! Mummy’s turn first. She got a …

Wot So Funee? 7 Where Do Babies Come From?

A while ago we had one of those conversations with Mummy. Being a brother and sister combo we are well-aware of the differences between boys and girls. Girls are in charge, boys must learn to do as they’re told. Oh, and boys have willies. Because they need something to fiddle with. Girls have long hair for that. Anyway, it occurred to me to ask how come boys can’t have babies. Mummy, thinking she’s super-smart, and heeding the advice to answer all such questions honestly, with no more detail than necessary, gives me technically correct answers: Well, boys have two holes, …

Bullies and Cliques

Are you a bully? Some types of bullying are less obvious than others

Last week Blogland was in a tiz about bullying. A lovely mummy blogger wrote a post describing something she felt bad about; someone else criticised her very harshly, and everyone kicked off! Amongst all the discussion about bullies, another theme arose: cliques. It seems people feel that there is a kind of hierarchy of bloggers. Well there is. Some people have been at it for longer, they know each other well, they have stuff in common. It is natural. Allegations of cliques were bandied about, implying that some bloggers are hostile to newcomers. I take issue with that. I am 7 years old, and …

Share Your Birth Story

Dear Beautiful Boy  gave Mummy this idea in her post for last week’s Showcase on Love Mummy Blogs. You see, she mentioned her birth story. She has mentioned it before, and she is not the only one. Lots of bloggers mention their birth stories; and lots of them leave it there, promising a future post, teasing Mummy, leaving her wanting more. So she has decided to take matters into her own hands and ask people to share their birth stories here in a meme. So that she can finally get the gory low-down on everyone else’s labour. That’s what …

Saturday is Caption Day!

The very lovely and extremely good parent Mammasaurus (I aspire to being one of her brood, such is the fun they seem to have over there!) has given us this super-easy prompt for Saturdays. So without further ado, gimme a funee caption for this one!

Reasons to be Cheerful & I am Grateful for…

There are so many this week I can hardly choose, so I’ll make it brief and list the ones that come into my mind first: 1. My Birthday: That’s just about the most cheerful I can possibly get! In fact I was so cheerful that I forgot to have a tantrum for the whole day! The same cannot be said for the Bug, who whined all day that he just wanted one more present…..! 2. Craft: To keep me busy! My friends all bought me craft for my birthday. I love this kind of thing! And the really great thing is that I am …

Wot So Funee? 6

Toilet Humour. We love it! There is nothing funnier than a fart, and to prove it several toys have been manufactured in the name of good old-fashioned toilet fun. My brother won a prime example in a game at my birthday party last week. Here it is in action: Yes, we are sad and pathetic, but I bet you laughed too, didn’t you! Slightly different take on the #funee theme today and next week we will be back to talking about how clever I am again, but we just couldn’t resist this! What clever and funee things are your children doing this week? Link up your …

Is Time Running Out?

Tara’s theme at the Photo Gallery this week is the letter T. T for Tara, T for Toys, T for Trees…. In a rare guest post here today Mummy ponders the passing of time – and realises that she has no idea where it has gone! Is time running out? Birth Day! GG, what has happened to you? It seems like only a couple of years ago that we brought you home on your Birth Day. In your new car seat, wearing your new Mamas & Papas snowsuit, with your brand new fresh skin. Eczema, asthma, chicken pox, scarlatina, several bruises, and some return visits to that …

Am I a Bad Mummy? Bad Birthday Cake

Shhhh! It’s Mummy here. This is a secret. I have just made GG’s birthday cake. It has taken most of today, starting with the purchase of several packets of sweets for embellishment, and ending with a covert evening of eating decorating – what cake? Me, making a cake? No – why? The cake of choice came from Australian Women’s Weekly Kids Party Cakes and is supposed to look like this: Well, not living in Australia, I don’t have access to Life-savers, nor do I know what a lamington is, but I bought every kind of sweet available that looked vaguely promising, before discovering …

Wot So Funee? 5: When I Grow Up

A very simple Wot So Funee? post from us this week as it is half-term and we have been running Mummy ragged all week playing games, taking trips, putting on fashion-shows: y’know, the kind of thing that needs a lot of tidying up afterwards. Consecutively she has not had a lot of spare time for doing clever-clogs vlogs! Whilst Mummy regresses to childish fun this week, we have been thinking about what we want when we grow up. For me this is simple, I have always wanted to be the one in charge. I want to decide what I do, and when; …

I Want a Bra

I want a bra I recently turned 7. Daddy says he can’t believe how old I am; Mummy doesn’t know where the time has gone. I think I am old enough to wear a bra. I know exactly what I want; I’ve tried on enough of Mummy’s to know what I like: I want lace. I want a bra. Don’t get me wrong, I do know that some things are not appropriate for a girl my age. Mummy recently acquired a set of matching bra and knickers from the gorgeous Freya Lingerie, and whilst I coveted them for their lace and …

Meet Me on a Monday

I have made a fab blog discovery at Never Growing Old, and she does a really cute link-up every Monday whereby bloggers answer questions about themselves in an attempt to let the world know who they really are. Mummy says there is plenty she doesn’t know about me, so she has asked me this week’s questions in an effort to understand me better! Here goes: My favourite kind of animal is… a puppy. No, a kitten. No, a puppy….can I have two? Do you like your handwriting? OMG! I love my handwriting. I can actually write with joined up letters! It …

BritMums Blog Prompt…

…If I could have one day to myself I would… Britmums is the voice of Mummy bloggers in the UK, and each week they issue a prompt, a nudge, if you like, to get bloggers thinking about what they might write. Mummy has, this far, failed to join in, not because the prompt doesn’t inspire her, but because it hasn’t inspired me. This week is different… Lots of Mummies on Britmums are talking on their blogs about how they would have a lie-in. If I were left to my own devices for a day, I would wake up as early as possible. I …

Wot So Funee? Week 4 The Boden Catalogue

You know how when you see something in a catalogue that you really like, you mark it, maybe by turning down a corner, ticking it, or some other method of remembering it before you log-on to make the purchase? Well I do that too. I underline things, with varying degrees of intensity, depending on how much I like them, then shove it under Mummy’s nose and cross my fingers. When the new Boden catalogue arrived the other day Mummy was getting tea ready and was intrigued to hear this from my corner of the table: Mmmmm, yummy, gotta have that, …
