Wot so Funee? End of year roundup.

The one with the dodgy spelling. For my final Wot so Funee? of the year (don’t worry, there’ll be more next week from Emma!) I decided to publish some of the funny moments I’ve found in my children over the course of the year. My trusty iPhone woke me this morning to the news that I had very little storage left, so I spent rather a long time deleting photos and video to make space. I’d forgotten some of these moments, and it was actually a lovely treat to scroll through and recapture some memories. Shocking though how much …

Wot so Funee? How to get more pudding.

Lovely puddings at Sands Resort Hotel in Cornwall

In honour of the Bug’s birthday this week, we’re going to share one of his recent classics. Both of us are good eaters, but we’re never made to clear our plates. That’s one thing Mummy has always been adamant about – a habit of clearing your plate stops you listening to your body’s signals, and often means you overeat. Apparently. So despite the school’s tendency to administer stickers for empty plates, Mum’s not having any of it. That said, we’re not allowed to avoid the things we don’t like, and there’s a cut-off point before which we’re not allowed to stop. …

Priceless jewellery: Wot so Funee?

We spotted a friend’s Facebook post last night that made us giggle. Steph gave us permission to quote her lovely daughter and her playdate friend, who were reading the recent anniversary edition of Girl Talk magazine. The copy featured the first ever giveaway Girl Talk had done, a free choker necklace. The overheard conversation went like this: – “What’s a choker?”– “It’s a necklace so fat that it makes you choke.”– “Why are they giving it away then?”– “Cos nobody would buy it!”– “Ah yeah good point.” As an aside, whilst my Mum was styling this choker that I made at …

National Geographic Kids magazine: Wot so Funee?

For about a year now we’ve been subscribers to National Geographic Kids magazine. It costs us about £30 a year, and I can honestly tell you it’s the best thirty quid we spend in terms of value for money for the kids. GG especially reads it cover to cover, fills in everything she’s asked to, attempts every craft, and enters every single competition! Ok so it actually costs us a bit more, by the time you factor in the cost of stamps and envelopes for all the comps 😉 With features on topical news (they covered the Olympics) as well …

Desperate measures

This week your host is Helen over at Just a Normal Mummy. Now, a small word of warning: don’t go there if you can’t handle square-words, because she uses them a lot! But then that WallyBubba she’s raising over there sounds like she would drive poor Maria VonTrapp to the gin 😉 Last week I told you how the Bug was poorly. Thankfully he’s a lot better, but the inconsiderate little creature has only gone and passed his cough and sore throat on to me! I’m less grumpy than fiery when I’m ill, so EVERYONE has been in a lot …

Wot So Funee? How my children see me…

Oh memes, and tags, and spread the word posts. Don’t you just hate them? How at first glance you think, “yeah, so not doing that one.” But you linger just a little bit longer, long enough to smile at the blogger offering herself up to your derision, long enough to think, “actually, that’s funny; that would only take me a couple of minutes, surely?” And BAM! Just like that, you’re hooked, linking yourself up, tagging another blogger, offering yourself up for their derision… This happened to Mummy yesterday; she tried to resist the offer from Kate to show the world …

Wot so Funee? Good things about Mums

In last week’s funee I talked about my tomboy friend with all the guns in her den. She will always play Prince to my Princess, Troy to my Gabriella, and Shrek to my Fiona. But when the playdate was at our house this week, she showed her soft spot when she decided to write about Mums: Meanwhile, on the  other side, I was completing my own version of the bad things about Mums. Mummy won’t let me post it here… Now, if you have your own post to link this week, grab the badge code from the bottom of the …
